Algoma Street statue takes a hit

THUNDER BAY – One of the city’s latest public art projects has been picked up for reinstallation following an incident.

The city’s Culture and Events page said one of the half-creature wild men sculptures on Algoma was knocked down Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle.

There was only minimal damage to the sculpture and nobody was injured.

The statue has been taken away for reinstallation.
