All five new COVID-19 cases live in Thunder Bay area

Thunder Bay District Health Unit says all five are self-isolating, two confirmed exposed during recent travel.

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has confirmed that all five COVID-19 cases revealed on Thursday are from the Thunder Bay area, and that all five are self-isolating.

Three are males and two are females and two of the five, a male and a female, were exposed to the virus while travelling.

The first case is a man in his 30s, who has been self-isolating since March 17. His exposure status is pending.

The second case is a man in his 60s, who has been self-isolating since March 21 and was exposed while traveling.

The third case is a woman in her 60s who was also exposed while traveling and has been self-isolating since March 25.

Case No. 4 is a woman in her 30s whose exposure category is pending and has been self-isolating since March 27, while the fifth case is a man in his 20s, who has been self-isolating since March 23.

The Health Unit said flight information is not applicable and reminded everybody who has travelled outside of Canada that they must self-isolate for 14 days upon their arrival back in the country.
