THUNDER BAY – A youth claiming responsibility for the fires at the Intercity Sears store on the weekend has turned himself in to police.
Fire crews responded to a call of a possible structural fire at the retail outlet Saturday afternoon. Upon arrival, crews discovered smoke from two small fires, one on the main level and one on the second level.
Both fires were put out quickly with minimal damage.
Police say just before 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon a 13-year-old teen came into the Balmoral Police station where he was arrested.
He appeared in court Wednesday and has been released pending a further court appearance.
