A 25-year-old Thunder Bay woman is in custody on impaired driving charges after an early morning incident.
Thunder Bay Police attempted to pull over a vehicle shortly before 3 a.m. for a Highway Traffic Act violation on Hartvicksen Street.
The vehicle then sped away from police and crashed onto a front lawn, where it became stuck.
The lone officer was able to arrest the driver, who was still trying to flee the scene in the vehicle. The officer suffered injuries to his arm, and has been treated and released from hospital.
In addition to the impaired to driving charge, the woman is also facing a charge of flight from police. She is scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning.
