A local group is continuing to try to convince the area’s public school board to create an alternative education school in Thunder Bay.

The Northern Lights Education Initiative group attended Tuesday night’s Lakehead Public Schools board meeting to provide the board with more information about their submitted proposal.

Trustees interested in the concept of holistic education asked numerous questions, and school board chair Deborah Massaro said a formal report now has to be submitted.

Massaro added that it is up to the board to decide if an alternative education school would be a proper fit for the city.
