The Kiwanis club of Thunder Bay, along with Staples Business Depot, are helping some local students through an annual campaign.
This year's annual School Materials Collection Program has raised more than $2,500 for students at McKenzie Public School and Our Lady of Charity. The two organizations presented the schools with gift cards so they can buy any school supplies they want in the store.
The money was raised by customer donations over the summer.
Kiwanis Club member Alvin Rissanen says it is a great feeling to help schools and families in need.
Over the past seven years the program has raised more than $19,000 for supplies for local schools.
