Another murder trial could take place in Thunder Bay this year.
John Robertson, 63, remains in custody, and faces a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife, 61-year-old Elaine Robertson.
A preliminary hearing into Robertson's case concluded Friday in provincial court.
The incident took place in April of 2011.
Robertson had gone to the city police station and turned himself in, prompting officers to attend the couple's apartment complex on Oliver Road. That's where they found the victim’s body inside the home.
Robertson's lawyer, George Joseph, said his client will ask for the case to go to trial at the Superior Court of Justice.
But first, the file will likely head to assignment court in late February.
The murder trial is expected to proceed sometime this fall.
