Another store robbed, clerk cut with knife

The epidemic of convenience store robberies continued into early Tuesday morning, this time leaving a store clerk with minor injuries.

The epidemic of convenience store robberies continued into early Tuesday morning, this time leaving a store clerk with minor injuries.

Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service say they responded to reports of a robbery at the Mac’s on North Edward Street around 1:40 a.m.

Police say three suspects were involved in the robbery, and that one of the suspects carried a large knife.

The suspects were given the money from the cash register, but then a suspect took three swings at the clerk with the knife.

The clerk was able to avoid serious injuries, but police say the employee did suffer a small cut to his chest.

During an investigation into the incident, police were able to arrest two young offenders – a 14 and 15 year old.

The suspects were picked up at an address on McDonald Street.

The third suspect, a 16-year-old boy, was arrested later Tuesday afternoon at a Blucher Avenue home.

All three suspects have been charged with robbery among other charges.

Police say their investigation into the robbery continues.
