Another passenger of a vehicle involved in a crash near Kenora has died.

The single-vehicle crash took place on July 22 on Highway 17A. Police officers with the Kenora detachment of the OPP responded to the crash shortly after 8 a.m. that morning.

The third victim of the crash has been identified as 17-year-old Jewan Kim. Police say she died as a result of the injuries sustained during the crash.

Driver Soo Hyun Kim remains in the hospital in serious condition.

Police say the driver of the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, however, officers have no evidence showing that the two passengers in the back of the vehicle were wearing theirs. Police cannot say whether or not the passenger in the front seat of the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash took place when the vehicle entered a ditch, struck a rock cut and burst into flames.

Police say friends in Winnipeg have helped them get in touch with the family's relatives in Korea.
