The area’s inflation rate rose slightly in July, new numbers from Statistics Canada confirm.
According to Statistics Canada the inflation rate for the Thunder Bay area was up to 1.6 per cent in July, which is up from the 1.2 per cent recorded in June.
Thunder Bay’s inflation rate in july was on par with Toronto and Ottawa, and close to the province’s average.
A jump in gas prices last month is being blamed for the marginal rise in the national inflation rate, which was 1.3 per cent in July compared to 1.2 per cent the month before.
