Thunder Bay’s unemployment was down in May.
New data released by Statistics Canada shows that this area’s unemployment rate hit six per cent in May, which is down from the 6.4 per cent recorded in April.
That puts this area’s unemployment rate below Ontario’s average, which was 7.3 per cent in May. The provincial unemployment rate in April was 7.7 per cent.
The Thunder Bay and Kingston areas had the lowest unemployment rates in Ontario.
