THUNDER BAY - A man has been arrested following an armed robbery on the city’s north side early Sunday morning.
According to a Thunder Bay media release, police received a call about an attempted robbery at knife point just after 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Police say a 37-year-old man was outside the Prince Arthur Hotel smoking a cigarette when he was approached by another man asking for a cigarette. After refusing, the second man pulled a knife and threatened the victim before leaving the area.
A short time later, 21-year-old Cody Beardy was arrested in the area of Cumberland Street and Park Avenue.
Beardy has been charged with robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, weapons charges, and breach of probation.
Beardy appeared in court on Sunday and was released for a future court date.
