A three-hour armed standoff in the city's East End ended peacefully early Friday morning.
The incident began around 10 p.m. Thursday when a McIntosh Street man phoned the Thunder Bay Police Service and began making firearms-related threats.
The emergency task unit and members of the force’s containment team were deployed and neighbours were advised to remain indoors.
Meanwhile, the caller was kept on the phone and after about three hours of negotiations, he surrendered to police without incident.
A 52-year-old man has been charged with mischief and threats to cause death.
