Arrest made in break-in and theft from pharmacy

Charges against the accused in a May 30 theft at a local pharmacy include carrying a concealed weapon.

THUNDER BAY – A recent break-in and theft at a city pharmacy has resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old man.

Thunder Bay police responded on the morning of May 30 to an overnight incident at a pharmacy in the 400 block of Victoria Avenue.

The thief had taken more than $5,000 worth of merchandise.

After members of the Break and Enter and Robbery (BEAR) unit became involved, a suspect was identified.

They located and arrested the man on June 1 in the area of Southern and Syndicate Avenues.

He's charged with break and enter, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of property over $5,000.

The accused appeared in bail court on June 2 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
