Assault sends Kenora man to hospital with life-threatening injuries

Kenora OPP are looking for information on a serious assault that sent one man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

KENORA - A serious assault has sent one Kenora man to hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

According to a media release from the OPP, the Kenora Ontario Provincial Police Detachment responded to a report of a seriously injured man at a downtown residence shortly after midnight on Sunday. The man was transported to hospital with what police call serious, life-threatening injuries. 

The OPP, the Northwest Region Crime Unit, the Northwest Region Emergency Response Team, and the Kenora Forensic Identification unit are on the scene of the assult.  

Police are still holding a scene on a trail near the railway tracks on Main Street North. 

Anyone with information about the incident are encouraged to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). 

The investigation is ongoing.
