Assault video posted online sparks police investigation

The incident is believed to have occurred in the vicinity of Water and Camelot street.

THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay Police are investigating an assault captured via cell phone and posted to social media.

In a release issued on Wednesday, police said the widely circulated video shows a male striking a female in the vicinity of Water and Camelot streets. 

The time and date of the incident are not known.

The Thunder Bay Police Service emphasize the importance of reporting video evidence directly to police, rather than posting to social media.
