Assault with a hockey stick leads to arrest

An altercation in a Dryden parking lot turned violent.

DRYDEN, Ont. — A man who allegedly attacked another man with a hockey stick Sunday night spent more than just five minutes in the penalty box.

He was kept overnight in the Dryden police lockup pending a bail hearing Monday.

Police responded to a report of disturbance in the parking lot of a local apartment building.

They learned that an altercation between two people had turned violent, with one of them striking the other with a hockey stick.

The victim was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

A 30-year-old Dryden resident is charged with assault with a weapon.
