Atikokan driver hit with impaired driving charge

OPP Media Release (ATIKOKAN, ON) – Shortly after 8:30 pm on December 20, 2015 members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the Tamarac Court Area.

(ATIKOKAN, ON) – Shortly after 8:30 pm on December 20, 2015 members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the Tamarac Court Area.

An investigation was conducted.

As a result of this investigation, A 50-year-old Atikokan man has been charged criminally with:

• One count of having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood. 

The accused will appear in Atikokan Provincial Court on Wednesday February 3rd, 2016 at 11:00 am to answer to this charge. 

The OPP is committed to safety for all who utilize Ontario’s roadways.  Members of the public are urged to report Impaired Driving by calling 911 in emergency situations.  Complaints of impaired, aggressive or careless driving can also be made by calling 1-888-310-1122 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
