(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On April 2, 2016 at 3:25 pm, officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complainant on a motor vehicle in the Township of Atikokan.
Officers located the motor vehicle on Mackenzie Avenue. The driver a 56-year-old Atikokan man failed the roadside test and was arrested and transported to OPP Detachment for breath tests.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for the mandatory seven days.
The driver was subsequently charged with,
-Having Over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
He will appear in Atikokan Provincial Court on April 13, 2016.
