An Atikokan woman died following a house fire in that community, the OPP confirmed Monday.
Police officers, firefighters and paramedics responded to the blaze just after 7:30 a.m. Saturday on MacKenzie Avenue East.
Police say Amy Rachel Lee, 31, of Atikokan, was found dead in the home after the fire. A second occupant was brought to a Winnipeg hospital and is now listed in serious condition.
The Fort Frances OPP will be assisting the office of the Ontario Fire Marshall to determine the cause of the fire.
Further information will be released when it becomes available.
A post mortem examination has been scheduled for May 10 in Toronto.
