THUNDER BAY - Two men charged with attempted murder in connection to a shooting that left another man with serious injuries remain in custody following a court appearance on Tuesday afternoon.

Terry Allen Pelto, 32, and his co-accused Jacob Daniel Wattie, 24, both face a charge of attempted murder following a shooting that left Shane Keefe with two serious gunshot wounds on May 3. Police say the shooting was related to the city’s drug trade.

Both men appeared in Thunder Bay bail court on Tuesday, May 26, and were remanded in custody to future court dates.

Duty counsel Patrick Birchard acted as agent for Wattie’s lawyer, Biago Del Greco and told the court he is still awaiting disclosure from Crown counsel as he continues working on a bail plan for his client.

During his court appearance, Wattie complained about the lack of disclosure from the Crown.

Pelto was remanded in custody to May 29 by audio for his next court appearance.

Both men face a series of firearm charges and drug-related offences.

Two women, Natalie Marie Salatino, 29,  and Molly O’Brien, 29, also face charges in connection to the investigation and face firearm and drug-related offences.

O’Brien will appear in court on May 27 for a bail hearing.

Salatino remains in custody as her lawyer continues to work on a bail plan.
