THUNDER BAY -- The bar and bistro inside the historic Finlandia Hall has been closed, just a year after its opening.
The decision to close the Embassy Bar and Bistro was unanimously made by the new 13-person board of directors of the Finlandia Association.
The Embassy was located right above the Hoito restaurant.
Board Member and Chair of the Embassy Committee Saku Pinta said they wanted to divert more resources toward the main hall.
Pinta added that about 10 staff members will be affected by the closure.
The Bistro space will still be available for private parties and special events.
Pinta said at a later stage, they will be revisiting opening the bar.
