THUNDER BAY -- A north-side credit union has become the target of a robbery for the second time in less than a month.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials say the Bay Credit Union was robbed by a lone male Friday afternoon.

This is the second time the Bay Credit Union has been the target of a robbery, the first reported robbery taking place on Aug. 12.

Police say the recent robbery took place at about 1:47 p.m. when a lone male entered the credit union at 142 South Algoma Street and handed the teller a note.

That note demanded money, and the man left the credit union with an undisclosed amount of money.

In a media release issued Friday evening, police asked the public’s assistance in identifying the man.

Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to call the Thunder Bay Police at 684-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

On Aug. 27 city police announced that they had arrested a suspect believed to be involved with the credit union robbery earlier that month.
