One of the city's business improvement areas is looking at some major changes to better reflect the development taking place in the north-side downtown core.

The Heart of the Harbour BIA will hold its regular monthly meeting Tuesday night to discuss a range of changes.

Suzan Cooper Rochon is the Chair of the Heart of the Harbour BIA and she said possible changes include a new name and adjusted boundaries for the organzation. She said. the name change, if approved, will better reflect the BIA's proximity to the waterfront, but she could not say what that name might be.

Details of the boundary adjust also could not be revealed at this time. The BIA hopes that a shift to its borders would allow it to cover more businesses in that area.

Cooper Rochon says the development at Prince Arthur's Landing is great for the downtown and the whole city. Rochon adds that vacant buildings are being purchased and businesses are relocating to the area.

If the Heart of the Harbour BIA board approves a boundary and name change, it will still need the approval of City Council.
