THUNDER BAY -- The Chief Administrator of the Thunder Bay District Social Services Administration Board has been selected to head up a provincial housing organization.

Starting on April 1, Bill Bradica will take on his new role as board chair of the Housing Services Corporation, a Toronto-based agency which helps affordable housing operators across Ontario improve their operations.

Bradica has been with District Social Services Board for the past 15 years.

He said he's excited to start this new role, and added it is a good thing for the North to have a local voice guiding that organization.

“There’s a different perspective that’s sometimes needed. We do have differences in terms of geography and costs of materials are impacted by that and that’s something that needs to be known,” Bradica said.

“Our utility costs are generally higher especially in the winter due to the heating season, so those types of perspectives are important to bring to the board.”

Bradica added he's been able to manage both roles so far, and says this new position won't interfere with his current job with the DSSAB.
