THUNDER BAY — Today was a gorgeous day to capture pictures of some "blue" ice at Silver Harbour.

As spring temperatures grace the city, many flocked to the conservation area to capture pictures of the unique ice conditions.

Because of the phenomenon, the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority sees an influx of visitors.

The LRCA is reminding visitors to pay the $5 parking fee that goes toward the maintenance of the parks.

With sunshine and an expected temperature high of 13, it's unclear how long the unique ice conditions will last.

The LRCA reminds visitors to be cautious when exploring near the shorelines and to be aware of rapidly changing ice conditions.
