KENORA, Ont. -- Police have identified the body of a man located at the Norman Dam.
Using DNA provided by family members, officials with the OPP say they were able to identify the body of Thomas Szirony, 40, of Vancouver.
Szirony was reported missing to the Vancouver City Police in December, 2012.
Officers from the Kenora detachment of the OPP were called to the Norman Dam on Thursday, March 7. Workers at the dam located the body floating at the intake to the dam.
Officials from the OPP Marine Unit and the Kenora Fire Department attened the scene to assist with recovering the body.
A post mortem examination was conducted on March 11 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, but cause of death has not been determined.
Police say there is no evidence to suggest foul play was a factor.
