Body identified as missing Wabigoon First Nation woman

\The Ontario Provincial Police has identified a body found in Wainwright Township near Dryden as that of missing Wabigoon Lake First Nation woman Emily "Chico" Brown.

DRYDEN -- The Ontario Provincial Police has identified a body found in Wainwright Township near Dryden as that of missing Wabigoon Lake First Nation woman Emily "Chico" Brown. 

The 43-year-old was declared missing on Mar. 18 and was reported to have last been seen in Dryden. 

Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Dryden Detachment along with Treaty Three Police Service and Dryden Police Service conducted a search for Emily. Members of the OPP North West Region Emergency Response Team and the Bear Clan Patrol along with community volunteers also assisted with the search.

Volunteer searchers discovered Brown's body at 5:25 p.m. on Mar. 25 near Chomita Trailer Park. 

A post-mortem examination took place on four days later in Toronto, positively identifying Brown.

The OPP issued a release Wednesday, expressing no criminal activity is believed to have led to her death at this time.  The investigation continues, however, and police are requesting anyone with information regarding the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death come forward.
