THUNDER BAY -- It wasn't the finish Oye-Sem Won and Trevor Bonot were seeking.

Up 7-5 on Saturday night through six ends in their match against Newfoundland and Labraor's Mackenzie Mitchell and Greg Smith, the Northern Ontario representatives gave up a single in the seventh and allowed a steal of two in the eighth to fall 8-7 and drop to 1-2 at the Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Calgary.

Thunder Bay's Karlee Jones, who now calls Nova Scotia home, was victorious in her Draw 15 match on Saturday. She and partner Bryce Everist stole a pair in the eighth end and came out on top in a 6-5 win over Tim Hortons Brier champion Brendan Bottcher and Bobbie Sauder.

Jones' team improved to 4-1, while Bottcher and Sauder remained winless at 0-4.

Next up for Won and Bonot (1-2) is an afternoon match on Sunday against B.C.'s Tyler Tardi and Dezaray Hawes (2-2). Jones and Everist will take on Manitoba's Krysten Karwacki and Derek Samagalski in the 10:30 p.m. draw.
