THUNDER BAY -- Rainy weather is about the only thing that can stop the Thunder Bay Border Cats these days.
The Northwoods League team was set on Wednesday night to chase its fifth straight win and attempt to build on its first place standing in the Great Plains East Division, but will have to wait until Thursday after league officials decided to call the game with the threat of more rain looming over Thunder Bay.
The Border Cats and their cross-border rival, the Duluth Huskies, will play two seven-inning games on Thursday night at Port Arthur Stadium. First pitch for the opener is scheduled for 5:35 p.m.
The Cats sit at 7-1, two games up on the Huskies and Loggers, who entered play on Wednesday at 5-3.
