Canada Border Services officers announced that a major drug bust took place at the Pigeon River border crossing last week.
Border officers discovered nearly five kilograms of marijuana in a vehicle during a secondary search. A 38-year-old B.C. resident and a 32-year-old Alberta resident have been charged with drug trafficking. Police did not provide further details about the suspects.
The Canada Border Service officers seized the suspect’s vehicle and have turned it over to the RCMP.
Police estimate the value of the marijuana seized is nearly $95,000.
