THUNDER BAY – That trip to Ryden’s to pick up a parcel or a bag of beef jerky is going to have to wait at least another month.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday announced Canada and the United States have agreed to extend the closure of the border between the two countries to non-essential travel for another 30 days, to July 21.

“This is an important decision that will keep people in both of our countries safe,” Trudeau said.

The border closure agreement was set to expire on June 21.

It’s the third time the closure has been extended, since it was first imposed in March.
