THUNDER BAY — Police made quick work of a break-in investigation on the weekend, as they managed to locate and arrest a suspect in less than an hour.

The incident began around 2:30 a.m. Saturday on the 400 block of Memorial Avenue, where responding officers found a window had been broken to gain entry to a business.

After accessing video from a security camera, they obtained an image of the suspect, and located him several blocks away – only 45 minutes after the break in.

The man tried to flee, but was apprehended after a foot pursuit.

The 30-year-old accused was remanded into custody after a court appearance on charges of break and enter, theft, resisting arrest and obstructing police.

It is Newswatch policy not to name people facing criminal accusations when we are unlikely to follow the case to its conclusion in the courts.
