Finding a home for two pieces of Thunder Bay's history may lead to the creation of a new museum.

The city's plan to amalgamate transit with Hagi means two restored brill buses are in need of a new home. Now a new group has been created to start a dialogue in the community on what to do with them.

Buddies of the Brill has been launched online. The website and its creator are looking for stories, artifacts and donations. The Brill buses have a long history in Thunder Bay.

The transit union's goal for the trolleys has always been to have them on display so people can get on the buses.

Former transit union president Charlie Brown says stepping aboard is like taking a trip back in time. Brown has a broader plan for the Brills.  He sees them as the cornerstone of a new transportation museum.

Brown says he will come back to council in the fall with possible locations for the Brills to be stored.

The city plans to move them around within the transit headquarters until a new indoor location is found for them.
