Burgess drops opener at U21 championship

Manitoba scored two in the 10th to take the opening-round match 9-7.

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. – Thunder Bay’s Dallas Burgess opened the Canadian under-21 national men’s curling championship with a loss.

Team Northern Ontario No. 1 gave up two, without hammer, in the 10th end on Sunday afternoon and dropped a 9-7 decision to Manitoba No. 2’s Jace Freeman.

Burgess is taking on Manitoba No. 1 in Draw 3 action on Monday morning.
