ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. -- Thunder Bay skip Dallas Burgess is a win away from a national men's under-21 curling championship.

The Northern Ontario skip scored an extra-end win on Saturday night to edge Team Manitoba No. 1, skipped by Jordon McDonald 7-6 in one of two semifinal games.

The win sets up a Sunday morning showdown against Alberta No. 2's Johnson Tao.

Burgess led 2-0, after two, stealing singles in each of the first two ends. He upped his lead to 4-1 at the fifth-end break, stealing one in the fifth.

The two teams traded deuces in the sixth and seventh, with McDonald closing the gap to one in the eighth. He'd steal the equalizer in the ninth and the two teams blanked the 10th, Burgess with hammer.

Team Northern Ontario No.1 includes lead Owen Riches, second Matt Duizer, third Jackson Dubinsky and fifth Brendan Rajala. They are coached by Bryan Burgess.
