THUNDER BAY – A shed fire at a Burriss Street residence was quickly brought under control on Saturday morning, but not before it caused significant damage to a nearby boat and home.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to the fire at about 12:30 a.m., noting smoke was visible from three blocks away.

Three pumpers arrived on scene simultaneously to battle the fire, but a second alarm was needed, adding another two pumpers and an aerial ladder to the attack.

The cause of the fire is unknown and the investigation continues, according to a Thunder Bay Fire Rescue release issued on Saturday morning.
