Busy night for police

Two armed robberies were among a plethora of calls keeping city police busy Friday night. The Thunder Bay Police Service responded to nearly 50 calls in an eight hour span, including a pair of armed robberies on the city’s north side.

Two armed robberies were among a plethora of calls keeping city police busy Friday night.

The Thunder Bay Police Service responded to nearly 50 calls in an eight hour span, including a pair of armed robberies on the city’s north side.

Police responded to an armed robbery at a River Street convenience store, minutes before getting a call for an armed robbery at a

Cumberland Street convenience store location.

The suspects in the robberies drove off, but were involved in a collision shortly after. One suspect, a 17-year-old male, was arrested but two other males and one female fled the scene.

Nobody was injured in the robberies, and the weapon used was seized.
