THUNDER BAY – The city’s calendar parking restrictions will take effect starting Friday.
The city issued a media release announcing the implementation of the restrictions, which under bylaw starts and ends based on weather conditions.
James Coady, city manager of licensing and enforcement, said the restriction is being put into effect because of snowfall accumulation from earlier this week as well as forecasts for more snow.
The policy will be in place on residential streets subject to calendar parking between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to allow road crews easier access for winter road maintenance.
Motorists are asked to follow posted signage.
Unless waived earlier, calendar parking restrictions will remain in place until March 31.
