THUNDER BAY – The City of Thunder Bay is inviting musicians, dance groups, children’s entertainers and other stage performance acts to apply to perform at the City’s annual summer events series.
Performance opportunities include over 15 event days, with two major single-day events and two event series. All events are free to the public and collectively draw thousands of attendees.
Talent is needed for:
Canada Day on the Waterfront (July 1, Day ) – Thunder Bay’s largest annual single day event, drawing approximately 20,000 attendees. Multi-disciplinary performance opportunities exist on the main stage, waterfront plaza stage (acoustic/small group) and two community stages (acoustic and performing arts) as well as roving/busking .
Live on the Waterfront (July 11, 18, 25, Aug 1, 8, 15, 22, 29) – Thunder Bay’s premier free music and performing arts series. Each night features up to 3 stage acts. Additional off-stage opportunities may exist. In summer of 2017 the event series drew over 31,000 attendees.
Teddy Bears Picnic (July 10) – Thunder Bay’s summer tradition for young families that takes place at Vickers Park. This event is an opportunity for children’s performers with attendance averaging 4,000 per year. Performance opportunities include up to 3 stage acts as well as off-stage roving/busking.
City Hall Sounds (Aug 2, 9, 16, 23, 30) - City Hall Sounds takes place each Thursday in August in McGillivray Square- the public space in front of City Hall. Each event will include live music, food trucks, and community partner information booths.
The application deadline for this Call for Talent is Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 4 pm.
