After a weekend scare, the Canada Games Complex is back to normal.
The Complex had to be evacuated just after 8 p.m. Saturday evening after a staff member improperly mixed chemicals, which led to a release of chlorine.
Fire crews responded and took nearly five hours to ensure the building was safe. The Complex resumed normal operations for Sunday.
The staff member was taken to hospital for inhalation and later released. That was the only reported injury.
Complex officials said the volume of chemicals was such that it was a low risk incident, and unlikely to occur again.
