THUNDER BAY — Mail delivery is suspended for the day as snow and ice pellets have caused slippery conditions.
Canada Post issued a red delivery service alert on Monday morning due to the winter weather conditions, with delivery agents either being recalled or not sent out for the day.
People are urged to clear their walkways, stairs and driveways to provide safe access for mail carriers when service resumes.
Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the region, forecasting up to 20 centimetres of snow and ice pellets before tapering off into Monday evening.
The snow is expected to fall heavily at times and lead to reduced visibility.
