THUNDER BAY - An inmate that has spent more than four years in solitary confinement at the Thunder Bay District Jail appeared in court on Monday.
Adam Capay, now 24-years-old, appeared in Superior Court to face a first-degree murder charge resulting from an incident in 2012.
Capay was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 35-year-old Sherman Quisses during an altercation at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre in June, 2012.
Capay’s trial has been delayed three times and he has spent the last four years in segregation in a plexiglass cell and lights on 24-hours a day.
Proceedings will resume on Tuesday. A publication ban is in effect surrounding details of the case.
