Car fire erupts on Victoria Avenue

Witness says people were in the area before the fire was discovered.

THUNDER BAY -- A car fire in the 400 block of Victoria Avenue is under investigation.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded on Tuesday night to call of a car on fire next to a building. Upon arrival they discovered the vehicle was fully involved and requested a full response  as a result.

A witness reported seeing people in the area before the fire, which is under investigation, was discovered.

The fire was extinguished quickly. The adjacent building suffered small damage. A gas meter was also severely damaged in the fire.

Nearby buildings were checked for smoke and damage and firefighters gave the all clear.
