Education employers from around the world were in Thunder Bay Friday for the 12th annual New Teachers Recruitment Fair at Lakehead University.

About 35 Canadian school boards, along with various international agencies, were at the fair recruiting new graduates from Lakehead's Education degree program. University Career Officer Christina Buzzi says there has been a shift in demand for teachers over the past three years.

Although full-time teaching jobs are scarce in Thunder Bay, she says growing communities in Western Canada are among the most in need.

Representatives from Mexico, Korea, and the United Kingdom were also at the fair to recruit potential graduates to work in their countries.
