'Careless' driver strikes police cruiser

THUNDER BAY -- A three-vehicle collision involving a police cruiser on Saturday afternoon has resulted in careless driving charges against one driver.

THUNDER BAY -- A three-vehicle collision involving a police cruiser on Saturday afternoon has resulted in careless driving charges against one driver. 

According to a Thunder Bay Police Service spokesman, police officers were waiting at the traffic light at the corner of Golf Links Road and William Street when their vehicle was struck from behind around 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. The impact of the strike pushed the cruiser into the vehicle in front of it.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the police cruiser from behind was charged with careless driving. 

No one was injured in the collision but there was minor damage to all three vehicles involved.
