Carolers spread cheer while supporting local charity

This year, the money raised is going to support the Dew Drop Inn

THUNDER BAY – Applauze Productions spread some holiday cheer this weekend while also raising money for a local charity.

Denise Krawczuk, owner of Applauze Productions, says that what originally started as more of a one-off event to help raise spirits during the pandemic has turned into an annual tradition.

“This is our third year of caroling for charity, our first year was in COVID and because the ladies just wanted to sing and bring some joy to the communities and it just kind of snowballed from there,” she said.

“And last year we did it and we had this sort of like the same locations and it was really successful, and we gave a really good donation to our charity last year and this year we decided to do it like an annual event.”

This year, the money raised is going to support the Dew Drop Inn, a local organization that provides a nourishing take-home hot meal for people in Thunder Bay that need it.

“People are in need right now and we can bring some joy into people’s lives and do what we love best, performance, and you know, and gives back to the community,” Krawczuk said. “We're more than happy to do that.”

For people who missed the chance to donate during the caroling but still want to support the Dew Drop Inn, monetary donations can be made online at their website. Food donations are also appreciated and more information can be found here.
