The case involving the death of a chihuahua-mix dog at a city park has been set for pretrial next month.

Lawyers met in an Ontario Provincial Offences courtroom Thursday to set the matter involving a dog that died at one of the city’s off leash dog parks for pre-trial scheduled for March 29.

An 18-year-old woman brought her chihuahua-mix dog to the Winnipeg Avenue park on Nov. 9. During that visit it is alleged that her dog was attacked and killed by another dog.

The dog accused of killing the chihuahua was accused by some of being a pitbull mix.

The owners of the dog accused of being part pitbull now face provincial offences act charges.

The lawyer representing the owners of that dog has since said publicly the dog is not a pitbull.
