THUNDER BAY - One of the teachers unions in the province has reached a tentative collective agreement with the Ford government.

The Ontario English Catholic Teacher’s Association and the Ontario Catholic School Trustees Association announced late Thursday afternoon a tentative deal has been reached with the government.

According to OECTA, the agreement “reflects the commitment of all negotiating parties to the well-being and progress of all students and staff in Catholic schools throughout Ontario.”

Details of the agreement will not be made public until it is ratified.

The tentative deal ends months of ongoing bargaining between OECTA and the provincial government.

Disagreements over class sizes and e-learning resulted in ongoing job action, including numerous full-day strikes at school boards across the province.
