The cause of a devastating house fire in Kaministiqua Tuesday will likely remain a mystery.
Kaminististiqua Deputy Fire Chief David Busby said because of the extent of the damage, it will be nearly impossible to determine the cause of a house fire on Hill Road Tuesday afternoon. The Ontario Fire Marshal's Officer has opted not to investigate, because the fire did not result in any injuries.
Fire crews from several rural departments, along with an MNR waterbomber were called to Hill Road at around 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon to find a house completely engulfed in flames. The fire also spread to the nearby forest, prompting the need for the waterbomber.
A man and his dog managed to escape the residence before the fire got out of control.
